Good health in the New Year!

Have escaped the ‘flu so far, but not the seasonal raffredore!

We had a lovely rolled and stuffed pork loin at our son’s home for Christmas day (everyone was tired of turkey). The stuffing included goat cheese and cranberries and was excellent. I prefer your recipe of sausage, breadcrumbs, parmigiano and fennel. But this was very close.

Buon Anno!

Happy New Year and so sorry to hear about your sickness and wishing you speedy recovery! I think my favorite dish from the holidays was my husband's lasagna and meatballs!

Thank you for lovely posts and looking forward to more. My favourite meal so far is not really a dish , more an assembly of delicious bits and pieces picked up from the local shops here in Venice. Fresh ravioli filled with chicory, Russian salad and buttery wafers, with winter salad leaves and the biggest bunch of the biggest grapes that you ever did see. But I’m heading to the fish market tomorrow!

My favorite new dish, and one I had at Christmas for the first time was fried eggplant drizzled with honey. Silver dollar size eggplant slices lightly fried. Yum! Get well.

At least it's not Covid, which seems to be the new holiday tradition in the States. Hope you're feeling better son. Buon Anno!

Hope you all feel better soon! I cooked all the fancy luxurious holiday food over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and my favorite dish was the simple, dairy-free potato gratin. Olive oil, onions, creamy local gold potatoes, and an herbs de Provence blend from my local spice shop, Stock + Spice in Portsmouth, NH.

So sorry to hear your news. The flu is no laughing matter. We all got our flu shots a few months ago and so far so good. Hope you'll be able to enjoy ringing in The New Year.

I enjoyed a dish in a local restaurant Bucatini Amatriciana. I used to make it myself but I used Mafalde Pasta. So good.

Happy New Year everyone.

So sorry to hear that you are all down with the flu! Hopefully it isn’t too bad and you will feel better soon. Favorite holiday dish was the ricotta and butternut squash crepes. The leftover filling and crepes got used the next day...to the comments about why there wasn’t more. I think they were a hit.
