Things we talked about in this episode: - Food memories that shape your life - Bracioline al Pomodoro and the beginning of my love story with food - A ciambellone for breakfast and food as love, connection and family - Upside down pineapple and cherry yogurt cake and food as a safe place
Food memories: 2. The first thing I remember cooking was sausages, but cooked in butter (not the sunflower oil that was the staple in Australia in the 70s)z had dried rosemary in the pan and it was just so fancy! The second is the first meal I cooked for my now wife. If was pork fillet, rolled in fennel seeds and pan-fried, and serves with honey and ginger carrots (a bit of a 70s throwback). It wa delicious, and we're still married, so a double bonus!
I loved reading your memories! A sausage cooked in butter is delicious, but the pork fillet sounds really magical, I can see why your wife was charmed! :)
