If you are an Anthony Bourdain fan, as I am, you should read the new book that was compiled by his long time associate. It is a travel guide, of sorts. It is broken down by country, so you could always read a few pages at a time. And most of it is filled with his own words taken from his shows, interviews, and writings. I have seen all of his shows, but I am still enjoying the book immensely. Patti from New Jersey, USA

You are very welcome. It is called World Travel and I think the cowriter's name is Lori or Laura Woolverton.

Good morning, thank you from 🇨🇦 for my first newsletter! Since long before not being able to travel, my favourite genre of writing is travel/food, and I’ve just finished Matt Goulding’s “Pasta Pane Vino”. I read his books cover to cover, as if it’s a novel, and savour every page. Delicious reading that keeps my travel-missing heart happy.

I don't know Matt Goulding, so this seems like something I'll have to research, very interesting thank you!

Dear Giulia, if you find it difficult to read poetry, Marianne Faithful has just realeased her new album (available on Spotify) where she reads poetry from the 1800’s romantic poets accompanied by soft and subtle music. It’s beautiful and could perhaps be something to listen on your walks in your beautiful countryside.

With all my best wishes,

Monica in Sweden

I just returned from Spain. My daughter had her 1st baby girl in May. She introduced me to her lemon/ricotta pasta dish. Lemon zest, 1/2 a lemon juiced, 1/2 cup ricotta and some fresh grated cheese with a good imported twisty pasta and you have a light and bright dish to enjoy for lunch!

Buongiorno from Umbria! I've been so enjoying your newsletter and social media-- thank you for the work that you do. Since you're looking for something to read, if I might be so bold, I'd love to zip you an e-copy or audiobook of "Il Bel Centro", my memoir of a year in Spello when my 3 kids attended public school, I learned to cook pig skin, and my two cats took turns getting lost in the warren of medieval rooftops. You can peek over at Amazon, ecc, to see if it would be up your alley. If so, I'm happy to email that to you in thanks for all the joy I've gotten from your work! I do have a question, not sure if this is the right place, but since I'm here... we visited Florence over the weekend to renew the kids' US passports and ordered beans for contorni every chance we had because they were amazing, but I can't find out the type! They were smaller than cannellini beans, blush colored at one end, and impossibly creamy. Any chance you know what kind I'm talking about? Again, many thanks!
