A postcard from a Parmigiano Reggiano dairy farm
Some days ago we went to Parma to visit a Parmigiano Reggiano dairy farm.
A few weeks ago, before we left for Puglia, we received an email from the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium inviting us to visit one of their dairy farms to write about the experience in Letters from Tuscany. Finally, last Tuesday we went to Parma to visit the San Pier Damiani dairy farm.
This was our second time visiting a Parmigiano Reggiano dairy farm, but again we were amazed by the magic that happens every day in these special places. It is here that you realize that one of the most representative products of the Made in Italy brand, one of the best known, loved and imitated, is an artisanal product that encapsulates the essence of a territory, its scents, and its knowledge.
[SPOILER] Time to gather all the information, and in a few days a Letter from Giulia will tell you everything about the experience, and I am sure you will book a visit right afterwards! Yes, because the visits to the dairies are open to everyone.
We visited last year! It was a really educational experience and heightened our appreciation around the skill, time and quality that is required for these products. Highly recommended!
Oh to be in Italy again and experiencing all the wonderful foods the land and people have to offer!
